For those who are planning to backpack around China in 2020, it’s always helpful to understand where the Chinese national holidays fall so that you can either plan around them or prepare accordingly.

This infographic, which was first published on TravelChinaCheaper, shows you all of the major holidays as well as any makeup days (for those of you expats who might need to work an extra day or two on the weekend!).

These Chinese holidays include:

  • New Year’s Day (International)
  • Chinese New Year (Spring Festival)
  • Tomb Sweeping Day (Qing Ming Jie)
  • Labor Day (May Holiday)
  • Dragon Boat Festival
  • Mid-Autumn Festival (eat mooncakes day)
  • National Day

If you’ll be traveling during any of these holidays, make sure you take advantage of any of the festival celebrations happening throughout the city! Being a part of a major Chinese holiday can be the memory of a lifetime!
